Private Location, Salem, OR, USA
About the Event
Vida Integrative Medicine just turned 18!
I realize how much my practice of medicine has grown, expanded and then become more focused. In the past 18 years I have gotten my board certification in Integrative and Holistic Medicine, certified in Functional Medicine, developed programs for comprehensive sex education, been featured in an NPR Podcast (Life Kit: How to Talk About STIs) and recently completed The Field Trauma-Informed Facilitator program.
With all this in mind, I am holding for the first time a woman’s circle to navigate the perimenopause and menopause years. The group will meet six times to cover topics such as embodiment, boundaries, pleasure, and the journey to "The Wise Woman" years. In these sessions we will have teachings, connection exercises, embodiment practices and discussion. While I am trauma-aware, educated and informed, I am not a psychologist or trauma therapist.
For this particular circle, it is open to anyone who identifies as a cis woman over 40 years old, irregardless of color, socio-economic status, sexual orientations, relationship status, religions and identities. We will be using the English language.
From Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024 to Friday, February 2nd, 2024, Dr. Evalene Molina Dacker will be hosting a weekly in-person journey,
“Journey To “The Wise Woman”: In To Me I See (Intimacy) Women's Circle, A Group for Cis Women Over 40” in Salem, Oregon!
Dates + Time:
January 3rd, 2024 - February 2nd, 2024
7:00PM PST - 9:00PM PST
(5 Wednesdays and one Friday)
Week 1: Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024
Connection to Self:
Embodiment: Getting Acquainted With Self
Our body is a giant library that holds all the stories of our lives. Many of us live so much in our head, that we forget the wisdom that has been with us all along.
This first week we will explore what it means to “be in” our body, how to resource her knowledge and deepen our sense of self.
Week 2: Wednesday, January 10th, 2024
Connection to Others:
Boundaries are the space between me and you that allow us to be in connection. Much of understanding of our boundaries happens when they get crossed because many of us have not been taught what it feels like to be able to say, “No”.
This week we will deepen our understanding of how we feel, know and express boundaries with others in a healthy loving way.
Week 3: Wednesday, January 17th, 2024
Connection to Self:
Embodiment: Going from Mind to Body
When we focus on our fears, trauma and dysfunctions it is much easier to stay in our head in order to control our emotions. Unfortunately our body becomes the minefield that holds our anxiety and anger in.
This week we will practice techniques to help us ground into our body and deepen our trust with her.
Week 4: Wednesday, January 24th, 2024
Connection to Others:
Turn Ons to Life
Pleasure is important for healing and connection to the world. We might feel selfish for wanting pleasure in our lives so we deny ourselves all that we can experience.
This week we will figure out what exactly turns us on-physically, spiritually, and emotionally-and how to feel good about it.
Week 5 (Part 1): Wednesday, January 31st, 2024
Connection to Self:
The Journey to Wise Woman
Going through perimenopause into menopause can feel scary and out of control, yet there is great wisdom in this journey. I will be teaching you about what it means to awaken into "The Wise Woman" archetype that you are meant to be.
Week 5 (Part 2): Friday, February 2nd, 2024
Connection to Self & Others:
This final session we will put it all together, co-create a ritual for our journey together and celebrate ourselves with laughter and love.
