As we embark on the transition of menopause, we often find ourselves navigating the path alone, devoid of any guidance to help us navigate the changes in our bodies and minds. Our society paints menopause as a period of discomfort, marked by a loss of vitality, mood swings, hot flashes, and a decline in sexuality. However, there exists a deeper and more profound truth; this is a time of liberation and wisdom, a time to embrace our true selves and find happiness in our being.
During my own journey of perimenopause and menopause, I discovered how to be in my fullest self and groundedness. One of the most impactful ways of deepening this experience is through the connection with other women undergoing the same journey.
Over the past 10 years, I have studied hormones, sexuality, somatic healing, embodiment practices, and created programs that have gained recognition across the country and even in Europe. It is now time for me to bring this knowledge to my patients as well.
It seems ironic that, despite my work expanding and being featured in numerous podcasts and summits on sexuality and menopause, my own patients have not had the full experience of this work. In light of this, I am starting a women's circle to bring my skills as a healer, transformational facilitator, and space holder to you. I am thrilled to be your personal guide to help you transition into the Wise Woman.
The group will meet five times to cover topics such as embodiment, boundaries, pleasure, and communication. These sessions will consist of a combination of teaching, connection exercises, embodiment practices, and discussion. While I am trauma-aware, educated, and informed, I am not a psychologist or trauma therapist. Together, let us embrace the magic of this journey and emerge as the wise, empowered women we are meant to be.
The circle is open to all cis and non-binary women over 40 years old who are experiencing midlife transitions, regardless of color, socio-economic status, sexual orientations, relationship status, religions and identities. We will be using the English language.
February 1-29
7:00-9:00 pm
Thursday Nights
February 1: The Journey to Wise Woman
Going through perimenopause into menopause can feel scary and out of control, yet there is great wisdom in this journey. I will be teaching you about what it means to awaken into the wise woman that you are meant to be.
February 8: Embodiment: Getting Acquainted With Self
Our body is a giant library that holds all the stories of our lives. Many of us live so much in our head, that we forget the wisdom that has been with us all along. We will explore what it means to “be in” our body, how to resource her knowledge and deepen our sense of self.
February 15: Awesome Boundaries
Boundaries are the space between me and you that allow us to be in connection. Much of understanding of our boundaries happens when they get crossed because many of us have not been taught what it feels like to be able to say, “No”. This week we will deepen our understanding of how we feel, know and express boundaries with others in a healthy loving way.
February 22: Sexuality and Sensuality Expansiveness
Pleasure is important for healing and connection to the world. We might feel selfish for wanting pleasure in our lives so we deny ourselves all that we can experience. This week we will explore how our we can own our sexuality more as our hormones change. Rather than view menopause as the end of our sex life, it can actually be the beginning of a time to get what we want for ourselves.
February 29: Integrating Intimacy Through Communication
Communicating desires, boundaries, intentions while staying healthy is one of my favorite topics. I developed a framework called The STARS Talk to help people navigate this difficult topic. STARS is an acronym that stands for Safety, Turn-Ons, Avoids, Relationship intentions & aftercare, and Sexual health.
Talking about what we want will help us get the intimacy we desire.
This event is held at a private residence near Ankeny Hill wildlife reserve. It is 6 miles south of Kuebler off of Liberty Road. There is no public transportation available.
